The Executive Protection Officer is primarily responsible for the safe and secure transportation of the corporation’s highest-level executives (principal) as designated by the Chief Security Officer. The Executive Protection Officer is also responsible for performing security advances of business and event locations to be visited by the principal to ensure the personal protection and safety of the executive. A proven track record of providing discrete protective transportation services, success working in a team environment, maintaining strict confidentiality, and the ability to communicate effectively are essential as this position must be able to brief, defend, persuade and instruct others on security requirements and policies. This position requires a flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and travel as necessary. The Executive Protection Officer must possess the ability to interact with all levels of corporate management, liaison internally and externally with a multitude of other departments and personnel.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Provide executive protective transportation for the Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer (principal) or any other individual as designated by the Chief Security Officer.
Create and maintain all appropriate reports, records, and documentation including, but not limited to, incident reports, mission, and travel reports and assessments.
Conduct a traffic report to determine road conditions and plan alternate routes to ensure on-time arrival.
Responsible for protective transportation vehicle repairs to maintain safe vehicle operations.
Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the protective transportation vehicle (interior and exterior).
Performs proactive measures to ensure the safety of the principal; i.e. advance work, research, collection of applicable information.
Enforces standard executive protection operating procedures and site-specific logistics.
Provide covert and overt executive protection to the designated principal(s).
Oversee access control and provide executive protective support to the C-Suite; to include communicating the need to shelter in place, taking the appropriate actions in response to a bomb or adverse weather threat, and to execute a tactical emergency egress if required.
Supports oversight and management efforts of contracted security officers:
Review and audit video footage to ensure the contracted security officers conform to security directives, post orders, and approved policy and record any exceptions through the approved process.
Review and update Corporate Physical Security post orders, procedures, and policies and submit them to the Director of Corporate Physical Security for approval.
Assist the Director of Corporate Physical Security in the investigation into allegations of misconduct of contracted security officers not consistent with Fifth Third Bank policy, standards, or operating procedures.
Performs other executive protection and Corporate Physical Security support duties as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge And Skills Required
Bachelor’s Degree is required
The candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of law enforcement experience and substantial executive protection experience and possess excellent oral and written communication and analytical skills, have high levels of integrity, and trustworthiness.
The candidate will have less than three years of separation from performing law enforcement and executive protection duties from the actual hiring date.
A license to carry a firearm is required, including a LEOSA/HR218 Firearm Qualification.
Must maintain physical fitness and readiness to respond to a critical incident, execute an emergency tactical egress, and provide a preemptive protective response at all times.
Maintain physicality to stand on your feet for several hours without a break.
Candidates must show demonstrated experience interfacing with high-level executives from diverse arenas (C-Suite Executive relations is essential).
Skills in relationship building, including fostering an environment of trust and confidence through integrity and professionalism is required.
Must be highly responsive to emergencies in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
A graduate of a reputable executive protection training school is desired.
Successfully completed a defensive & evasive driving course is desired.
Prior training in emergency medicine, defensive tactics, and tactical firearms is desired.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with corporate executives and support teams.
Working knowledge of physical security systems to include, but not limited to, physical and electronic security systems, intrusion detection systems, CTV, and other security-related software.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
Ability to produce clear and concise reporting of events.
Current Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Current and valid passport.
Pass a thorough background investigation.
CPR and basic first aid in medical skills.
