Reporting to the Group Security Operations Manager, the Regional Security Manager Africa is required to protect the best interest of the company against security-related risks and identified impact risks throughout the designated countries in the Africa Region.
The position provides security strategy, oversight, and support to all business entities, operations, and projects within the Region including development, review, and maintenance of the security programs with a cost-effective approach that must add value to the business and requires ‘hands-on’ tactical engagement.
Develop a full understanding of the company’s activities and brand portfolio in African markets and develop close relationships with business operations in the region.
Provide Group Security support in the implementation of the Company’s Group Security Policies as well as providing additional support to address other asset protection matters and to provide specific security risk advice and solutions to the business as required.
Develop close working relationships with Law Enforcement Agencies in the region.
Lead the Travel Security program in the region to ensure all relevant stakeholders including all business travelers are kept up to date with security incidents, trends, and country-specific risks.
Develop a full understanding of counterfeit/smuggling activity in specified markets in terms of individual market penetration. Ensure relevant information and intelligence is articulated accurately and disseminated appropriately to relevant stakeholders.
Work within a team environment at a local level with business operations and at a functional level with the Group Security team.
Role Skill/Knowledge Requirements:
A minimum of 10 years’ practical experience of operating within a range of market/operational environments including extensive experience in the Africa region
Fluent English and French language skills (oral & written)
Law enforcement/Agency/Military experience preferable – investigative skills essential
Highly organized with sound interpersonal skills accommodating the ability to liaise with a myriad of colleagues on a cross-functional and multi-cultural basis
Commercially astute and operationally aware with a keen eye for detail
PC Literate – Word/Excel/PowerPoint
Flexibility, energy and a willingness to work on an international basis – travel required
