Performs work under indirect and general supervision.
Responsible for managing a specific security function (e.g. Personnel Security) or program within a region.
May function as a senior industrial security representative (e.g., Facility Security Officer, Contractor Special Security Officer, Contractor Program Security Officer, Information Systems Security Officer, Communications Security Officer, etc.) in accordance with applicable Government security policy.
Should the position include direct reports, responsibilities will include training, supervision, and career mentoring. May require budget preparation and management.
Requires full working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and / or associated Intelligence Community / Special Access Program security policies and procedures. Performs a variety of industrial security duties to include, but not limited to: personnel, technical, programmatic, information systems, operations security, and communications security support.
Must have a working knowledge of the Government’s personnel security regulations pertaining to the clearance processing systems and related electronic systems (e.g., JPAS, eQip, and others). Requires computer literacy (i.e., PC and MSOffice) and keyboarding skills as well as exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
Relies on their experience in the field to make intermediate and routine decisions.
Require citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance granted by the Government.
