At least 15 people have been killed and several others wounded in an attack on a convoy transporting traders in a town in northern Burkina Faso on Friday, May 29. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack. Burkina Faso has been combating armed groups linked to al-Qaeda and Islamic State (#IS, #ISIS, #ISIL) since 2017. Last year, hundreds were killed in Burkina Faso. So far, more than half a million people have fled their homes, escaping violence fuelled by ethnic and religious tensions.
