Amid the current health #crisis (#ebola, #measles, and #coronavirus) in DRC, the country is ravaged by domestic violence. That is to say, at least 19 civilians have been killed in the eastern part of the country on June 19 and 20. Nine people were kidnapped on Friday, June 19 by the Allied Democratic Forces (#ADF), and their bodies were found in the province of #NorthKivu bordering #Rwanda. In the neighboring #Ituri region, ADF gunmen attacked the village of #Bukaka, killing ten people on Saturday, June 20. In another incident on Saturday in #Fizi, in #SouthKivu province, fighters from a coalition of armed groups attacked an army unit, killing two soldiers. Dozens of armed groups operate in eastern DRC, a legacy of the two Congo wars in the 1990s that pulled in neighboring #Uganda and Rwanda.
