Health officials in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) have reported a fresh Ebola outbreak in the country's northwest. Four people have already died from Ebola in the capital of Equateur Province, the city of #Mbandaka – a transport hub on the Congo River with a population of more than a million. The Ebola epidemic in the country's volatile east has killed 2,280 people since it has emerged in eastern North Kivu Province in August 2018 and later spread to the neighboring #Ituri province.
Until June 15, DRC has recorded 17 Ebola cases in the western province of Equateur and 11 of those infected have died. Authorities reported 12 infections the week before. The country's health system is also combating a #measles epidemic that has killed more than 6,000 people and #COVID19 that has infected about 4,800 and killed 112.
